Due Date

Yesterday was Ella's due date. She was born at 34 weeks. It amazes me everyday that God created this tiny baby and he gave us the privilege to be her parents. I remember the day I received the call about her birthmom going to the hospital to get monitored. I was picking up Corbin from MDO and praying to God to let this be the day Ella is born. Even though she will be early please let her be okay. I just wanted the roller coaster of emotions to be over. The constant worry that her birthmom might change her mind. Now that I think back that was a very selfish prayer on my part. God answered our prayers about her being born that day and being okay. She came out screaming. God did not stop there. Every little prayer that we asked he gave. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22 NIV). For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:8 NIV)
I prayed that I could still be in the delivery room and I was able to. I prayed to be able to cut the umbilical cord, and I did. I prayed about being able to stay at the hospital, and we got to for 3 nights. I prayed for Ella to be in our room some, and she was. These might seem like little things, but God answered them all. He is amazing.

She will be 4 weeks tomorrow. I am going stir crazy being in this house with a very energetic 4 year old. I hope I can make it another 2 weeks.

3 weeks old

Ella is now 3 weeks old today.  She weighs 6 lbs 6 oz and is 19 inches long.  She is so little, but finally doesn't look so tiny.  Davy's mom is here for a couple days and I am so happy.  I am still very nervous about being alone with 2 kids.  We are finally all on the mend.  Davy went to the doctor today because he was starting to feel sick, but not too bad.  Hopefully we will not get sick anymore for a while.

2 weeks old

I can not believe that Ella is 2 weeks old already.  My parents have been down here for a week and have to leave tomorrow.  I am kind of nervous about being alone with 2 kids.  I am so thankful Ella is so easy.  She is sleeps all the time.  I don't remember Corbin sleeping this much.  Maybe it is because she is 4 weeks early.  I think she has changed alot in a week.  Her cheeks are bigger.  I finally was able to give her a full bath because he umbilical cord fell off Wednesday night.  She is not a fan of baths.

Blessed

I feel beyond blessed. Over this past week we have been given so many gifts from our friends. I think that Ella is good on clothes until she is 2. In the third picture can you find her? We need to buy furniture.

Corbin loves his little sister

Corbin loves his little sister.  He is going to be such a great big brother.  Ella's hair is so pretty and so soft.  It is very blonde too.  We feel very blessed right now.

So Tiny

Ella is so tiny. She barely fits into the little things we have for her. I am so thankful Davy is here. Getting adjusted to 2 kids is going to be hard.

1st Dr Appt

Ella had her first dr. appt. everything went well. She weighs 5.8. She is doing amazing well for being 4 weeks early.

New Addition

Friday, September 28, 2012 at 5:31 pm, Ella Nicole came screaming into this world.  She weighs 6 lbs 1 ounce and is 18 3/4 in long.  She is so tiny and so precious.

Go back about 1 month.  We received a call from our agency saying that our profile had been selected.  We were beyond excited, but also very scared.  Things can change quickly with adoption.  We were able to meet with the birthmom a couple of times before she gave birth.  She is an amazing women.  This experience has made us appreciate birthmoms on a whole different level.  She made the most selfless act anyone can make.  Davy and I have grown to love her so much.  Because we want to respect the birth family, we are not going to post pics on facebook for awhile.  I am going to post pics and updates on this blog only.  Davy and I are on cloud nine.  I think I am in complete shock and protection mode.  It has not hit me yet.  Corbin is beyond excited.  He loves Ella so much.  Yesterday when he met her, he could not stop smiling.  It was so sweet.  Ella is an easy baby so far.  She only cries when she is hungry or getting her diaper changed.  I forgot how much babies sleep.
